Subset of Question & Answer

Q:  Can we consider the Design Studio as revised version of WAD tool?

A:  officially, it is a premium “alternative” of it – we target to cover all essential WAD scenarios with Design Studio.

Q:  Is there any limitation on max no of output results(cells) in design studio 1.2 ?

A:  No limitation on the data output itself.

Q:  If I were to use SAP Lumira with Bex query(as data source) along with Non SAP systems, it it possible ?

A:  Lumira does not support BEx Queries at this time – only BW BI4 universes

Q:  How long MDX statements are supported ?

A:  we don’t do MDX in Analysis Office or Design Studio. use queries or HANA models instead

Q:  Any plans for drag-and-drop functionality with the Analysis grid item similar to what is in BEx 7.x?

A:  drag and drop is possible in Analysis grid, e.g. adding/removing new dimensions/measures, sorting, filtering etc.

Q:  If we use Bex queries, we can simulate using RSRT for any specific calculations to be verified/checked. How Can I simulate Design Studio using Bex as data source assuming that built-in custom code within Design studio?

A:  you can use ALL Bex queries in Design Studio …

Q:  Is Design Studio a replacement BeX Query Designer?

A:  No it is not – there is no replacement for BEx Query Designer

Q:  Which mobile devices(Apple/Adroid/windows) versions are supported for Design Studio ?

A:  iOS devices

Q:  What is ‘Idea Place’?

A:  Go to – a place to recommend enhancement requests

Q:  Are future enhancements planned for BEx Query Designer?

A:  An eclipse version is coming with 7.40

Q:  Does that mean Bex Query Designer is not going away?

A:  It is not going away

Q:  is it possible to save a design studio dashboard display to PDF format?

A:  not a native PDF generator yet, we have printing on the roadmap.
