Dear University Alliances Community,
It’s my pleasure to inform you about a very promising cooperation that we jointly establish with the Beijing Jiaotong University (BJTU), a national key university of China, under the direct administration of the Ministry of Education.
SAP and BJTU officially signed the cooperation Agreement in front of 375 Chinese students and 11 professors at the University Alliances Forum at China SAPPHIRE. I am proud that I personally had the chance to sing the agreement with XingChen Zhang, Vice President of Beijing Jiaotong University.
The cooperation contributes to SAP’s strategic growth in China. SAP decided to jointly establish a University Competence Center (UCC) at a Chinese University for other Chinese universities. SAP University Alliances targets to have hundreds Chinese member universities by end 2014 to teach SAP’s latest technology to their students, as result from the joint work of the UCC.
As a first step, the UCC will host SAP Business Suite on HANA for member schools. In the coming years other innovative solutions will be added around the topics of Cloud, Mobile and Analytics, to increase and stabilize the operations of the UCC. The cooperation symbolizes both SAP and BJTU’s commitment to Education in China. We are now working with the BJTU to get the UCC up-to speed for the Spring semester, to host SAP Business Suite on HANA for first teach in February/March 2014 at Chinese Universities’.
