Very Cool! SAP Super Bowl Volunteer App

Back in June I signed up to be a NY/NJ Super Bowl XLVIII Host Committee Volunteer. Having recently moved to the NY/NJ area, I thought, no better way to meet new people, get to know the area and be part of a historic event – the first Super Bowl to be hosted by two NFL teams in a cold-weather city.

Last night was my first volunteer training, and besides being asked to smile, smile, smile, I was delighted to see the SAP logo during the unveiling of the volunteer mobile app. When launched next month, the clean, uncluttered app, built by SAP, will be the go-to tool for all 15,000+ volunteers. We’ll have access to real-time alerts, shift schedules/changes, weather announcements (Farmers’ Almanac predicts “Storm Bowl”), and public transportation timetables. From our smartphone we’ll have the ability to assist hundreds of thousands of visitors as they make their way around New York and New Jersey. Check out the app on iTunes.
