It is almost the end of the year and we are all looking forward to year-end holidays in the festive season. Few things now have become part of this seasonal attraction for SAP Community members for quite few years now – such as SAP TechEd and ofcourse SAP Inside Track India, the yearly rendezvous of local SAP community members in some of the cities. Three years back it was first started in Bangalore and for the last 2 years extended to Kolkata as well last year seeing Hyderabad and Chennai joining the club as well. Those who have attended the same in any of the locations in earlier years need no introduction – it is a local community led event to share knowledge and network with each other in an unconference style get-together.
This year already the SAP Inside Track India series have started with the SIT Bangalore event being organized on Nov 17 and the SIT Chennai event shall be announced soon. Though we usually have the SIT Kolkata event in December, this time it seems due to SAP TechEd dates and other logistics issues it may be difficult to organize it in December. So we are planning to make it happen on 11 January, 2014 (Saturday). We have got a confirmation from IBM like last two years to sponsor the venue in DLF Tower B office in Rajarhat, New Town.
Now coming to the actual event planning – we need participants and speakers who can present on topics on anything around SAP which might be of interest to the community. To make this event happen successfully we need atleast 6 session proposals from local community members. To encourage everyone to present sessions in SIT Kolkata we are also working on getting some sponsored gifts for the speakers or atleast some of the best speakers like we did last year. Already Soumojit Das, MD, Intime Inc (who is a veteran SIT Kolkata attendee for the last 2 years) has shown interest in sponsoring small gifts for participants and speakers in the event.
Needless to say this is a great opportunity to meet and interact with your local SAP community peers, top contributors in SCN and SAP Mentors. It is also a good platform to get visibility across the global SAP community having the event being webcasted and many interested SCN members as well as many SAP Mentors around the globe watch it closely, if not directly participating even remotely.
So I urge the SCN community members in Kolkata to register for the event on Jan 11 and also mention if you are interested to present a session. Please fill-up the form in the link below to register:
If you are new to the club or haven’t attended any SIT event before you may find enough reasons to do so after reading the following blogs:
Also please note that this is a fully community driven event and like last years we may need to collect a small token registration fee (Rs 200 – 300) to arrange lunch and refreshments on the day of the event at the venue.
