Applying Design Thinking to SAP Certification: Highlights from an SAP Mentor Session at #SAP TechEd Amsterdam

SAP Mentor Tom Cenens was at SAP TechEd Amsterdam 2013 to conduct two networking sessions around a topic near to his heart: Design Thinking – Changing the game in SAP Certification & Education. As a member of SAP’s Certification Enablement & Influence Council, Tom is one of several customers, partners, and independent consultants who work closely with SAP Education to give their perspectives on its certification program in an effort to improve and strengthen it. Part of his role on this council entailed participating in a Design Thinking workshop at SAP’s head office in Walldorf, Germany.

In this short video, Tom shares insights gleaned the workshop, which he in turn shared with SAP TechEd attendees in his two well-attended sessions. Tom gained a lot of value out of the experience, and he plans to continue participating in Design Thinking workshops in the future. For Tom, Design Thinking could be “used as a benefit to create added value for either a customer or a partner – -anyone who has a challenge and wants to find a viable solution.” Look out for an upcoming blog post on SCN from Tom with more details.
