Experience the new Gateway development paradigm for SMP 3.0 at TechEd 2013

TechEd 2013 is a big event for us in the Gateway team. We announced the all new Productivity Accelerator for Microsoft (GWPAM), which was received extremely well. And with our Gateway for Java we contribute an important part of the foundation for the new SAP Mobile Platform 3.0, which exposes OData services for all these great mobile apps. What is not that widely known yet, is the fact that we are at the same time introducing a new development paradigm for Gateway by allowing you to build cross-platform OData services for SMP. Cross platform means, when you build a mobile or Web app, you can now tap into various new datasources like Java Persistency API (JPA), JDBC, even SOAP and of course ABAP-based OData service built with SAP NetWeaver Gateway. All of these you can combine into one OData service for your mobile app using the new Gateway Toolkit for Integration Gateway inside of Eclipse. Once the OData service is available, you can build your mobile or Web app using the various existing Toolkits for iOS, Android, HTML, PHP and Java SE. Not to forget (of course) GWPAM. Thanks to Gateway and OData the origin of the data does not matter any more.

This is the flow that we will show:

If you are curious, how you can do this yourself, then you should join me in one of our TechEd sessions Develop an E2E scenario with ABAP on HANA, SAP NetWeaver Gateway and SAPUI5 (CD204) or Rapid Application and Service Development with SAP Mobile Platform 3.0 (MOB108).  There we will show live and in all details, how the new development process works. If you are more interested in server-side OData provisioning, CD204 is the right session for you. If you want to learn everything about the development of mobile apps, MOB108 is the right lecture for you. In any case I recommend to also see us in the Gateway roadmap session SAP NetWeaver Gateway – On-Premise and in the Cloud (CD107). You can always meet somebody from the Gateway team at our SAP NetWeaver Gateway and Duet Enterprise demo pod (Info Zone, Hall 10; P10.9)

The full list of Gateway related sessions is actually posted here: SAP NetWeaver Gateway & Duet Enterprise Coming to TechEd Amsterdam

I am looking forward to meet you in Amsterdam!
