Hello!

Maybe you know our procedures for splitting optional dual-stack systems and for renaming existing systems. With the release of Software Logistics Toolset 1.0 SPS09, both procedures were integrated into software provisioning manager 1.0 – and maybe you already stumbled over this, if you tried to get the latest version of any of these two procedures in the last days  .

As a consequence of this integration, no updates will any longer be provided as standalone tools, but future improvements to both procedures will be provided as new versions of software provisioning manager 1.0 instead.

What does this mean for you?

If you plan to perform a dual-stack split or a system rename, the consequences should be rather small: just download the software provisioning manager 1.0 archive (instead of the dual-stack split or the system rename archive) fitting for your product version from the Software Logistics Toolset page, extract the archive and start the tool. In addition, download the system rename or dual-stack split guide (which will be kept as separate guides) and take a look at the corresponding SAP Note for system rename or at the SAP Note fordual-stack split (which will also be retained).

On the Welcome screen, you will see both options as separate option:

The rest ofthe procedure should be similar to the handling with the former standalone tools.

For more information, you can see the following pages in SCN:

So, just remember that you now have to download software provisioning manager instead ofany standalone tool and you should be fine  !

Best regards,
Boris
