Data Geek Challenge: Indian Population Census –Showing Male and Female ratios.

Hi,

This is my first blog on SCN… Starting with the blog will explain how to login to Lumira and prepare you first presentation.

Steps to Login to Lumira:

Step 1: Login to SAP Lumira

Click on Start  –> SAP Business Intelligence –> SAP Lumira –> Click on “SAP Lumira” application.

<img />

Step 2: Below is the initial screen of LUMIRA.

Step 3: Creation of “New Data set”.

File –> New (CTRL+N)

Here it will display the Available types of sources to create a data set from.

Here in our example I’m considering “CSV” Type.

  • – Select CSV
  • – Double click on it, it will pop up a window to load the New data set.

Here Enter the below

Dataset Name: for ex Population Census of India

File(s): browse the path of the file.

Separator: Comma

Here is how my data looks in Lumira

-Click on “Create”.

Now we are ready to analyze our data and prepare presentation.

Now drag and drop the measures In Primary Values area, here I had dragged Females and Males.

Total Population in Pie Char (State/UT wise).

To get the Top 10 Populated States in India:

Measures –>Total Population –> drill down –> Select “Rank Values”

In the same way you can calculate the Bottom 10 States/Union territories in India.

Hope document is helpful for starters ….

Thanks for reading…
