Talk about exhausting! A TechED day that starts at 08.00 and ends at 18.45 is long but filled with inspiration of what we can offer our customers in 2014.

CLOUD - this is going to be huge!  We have our on-demand applications naturally but for us in Data & Technology there is going to be a need for back-end integration as well as customer specific enhancements to be developed. The SAP HANA Cloud Portal as well as the the SAP HANA Cloud Platform have so much potential not yet discovered. The newly developed iForms makes back-end integration much easier than PI and keeping the PI mappings should appeal to customers who have invested heavily in their own PI development. Reuse means lower TCO. The Portal UIX enormously attractive.

From what I could tell customers have not yet begun their Cloud Application journey which means we, SAP DTS, need to help them. On-premise, hybrid ( this for sure!) or on our own platforms. They seem genuinely interested in listening to us.

BIG DATA - brings out all the best of our RDTP services.  IT will involve our Analytic tools, SAP HANA, Sybase IQ, Sybase ESP, our IM tools. Begin with Design Thinking workshops to find the customer, followed by small pilots, then larger implementations.   A good side product of the Big Data focus is that customers understand they need to have excellent data quality. So our DMS services complementing the IM products are positioned so much easier. So Big Data will mean big DTS solution offerings.

SAP HANA/RTDP LANDSCAPE - never has the technology platform been more promoted.  Customers wanting to adopt the innovation shown at TechEd have a landscape challenge ahead. New databases that require installations, database and data migrations, virtualization, HA/DR strategies to develop, new UIs to design, develop and deploy. Mobility on a wide variety of devices to deploy. Integration, integration and more integration.  If this isn't a dream scenario for D&T specialists then its time for them to find another occupation.

For those who didn't get to attend TechED - read the material available or follow the live sessions from Amsterdam. Become inspired and share your enthusiasm for what we together can help them achieve!  If you get stuck just contact me and we'll find that unique differentiator which will make you their most valuable trusted advisor.
