At SAP, we believe in leveraging our best assets to drive social impact through our corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives. As you’d likely guess, one of those assets is access to the most modern and innovative technologies.

Run by SAP’s CSR team in North America, the hardware donation program provides laptops, desktops and in some cases, iPads to qualified not-for-profit organizations in the United States and Canada that may not have access to the kind of technology we have available to us at SAP.

October’s Month of Service is our signature volunteering initiative. Month of Service provides us a great opportunity to integrate hardware donations with volunteerism.

The Philadelphia Veterans Multi-Service & Education Center Inc. is a comprehensive resource centre available to all veterans in need. This October, SAP volunteers built a laptop lab for the centre, complete with 50 laptops donated by SAP. These laptops will enable the organization to provide online job-site access to support veterans and their return to the workforce.

In the Bay Area, SAP worked with Breakthrough Silicon Valley, an organization on a mission to prepare academically motivated middle school students with limited educational opportunities for success in rigorous college-preparatory high school programs and four-year colleges. SAP volunteers revitalized Breakthrough Silicon Valley’s office, which included installing Microsoft Office Suite on 45 SAP-donated laptops.

Generally our laptops are available on a rolling basis per quarter and entirely based on inventory of our laptop hub centers in Newtown Square, Palo Alto, Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver. We typically award between 400 and 500 per year, and prioritize our grant partners.  For a full list of program guidelines and to submit your request, click here.
