In this document i will try to describe reasons for the differences between difference between the reports S_ALR-87013558 and CJI3.
The report S_ALR_87013558 is the same as report 12KST1A which you could find through CJE0 for project system information report pool.
But CJI3 is project cost report, they have different usage when you analyze the project related information
There can be differences between the line item report and the hierarchy reports, which are no error.
Understanding of the table RPSCO updation.
Please read note 51971. It explains how values are displayed in our hierarchy reports after settlement and which kind of settlement records
are updated to table RPSCO - the so called Project Information Database. Report 12KST1A collects the data more base on project point of view.
it only focus on how much cost/revenue is related to the project element, it doesn't care exactly those cost/revenue is generated and also the cost element will not be considered, it only aggregate all the cost/revenue tighter to the project element and show the total data for the project element.
Therefore, if you have cost/revenue on several levels like WBS-element and the networks under the WBS-element, then you will see how the cost/revenue is aggregated base on the project levels, this is what this report is designed for.
CJI3 - Controlling Area :
Then report CJI3 will consider and collect the data base on cost point of view, that means it will consider more attribute from CO area, then the cost element will be considered and the cost/revenue is aggregated base on Cost element level or even small cells from CO point of view.
If after carefully review of the above note you are still not able to explain the discrepancy between the two values, I would kindly ask you to proceed as follows
Line Item & Hierarchy Reports
Line item and hierarchy reports do not necessarily show the exact same values, in particular if not all cost elements are assigned to value categories, deviations can occur. Please execute transaction CJVC and check the value category customizing in your system. All items should be assigned. Postings to unassigned items will not show up in the hierarchy reports. Please check your value category customizing according to note 676123 Once the value category customizing is correct, then please check, if CJEN will correct the difference between line item and hierarchy report Note 52963 describes CJEN in detail.
