Day 3

I attended the hands on workshop End-2-End Developer Experience with SAP HANA Cloud Platform and SAPUI5 (CD265). The use case was to develop SAPUI5 application using the SAP HANA cloud platform. I had some experience with SAPUI5 from the Introduction to Software Development on SAP HANA course offered through http://open.sap.com, so I was looking forward to this session to enhance my skills.

However with only 4hrs scheduled (and few technical issues), I could not get the best out of this session. This course requires solid understanding of Java and eclipse environment, which was missing from the workshop description. The good news is this course is also offered through openSAP free of charge. So I hope to take another shot at this later.

In the afternoon I attended the Master Class for Optimizing SAP NetWeaver Business Warehouse on SAP HANA (RDP303). This was a great session by Marc Bernard who is a chief Architect on SAP BW covering the topic of SAP BW to migration to SAP BW on HANA. So if you have a SAP BW installation and thinking of migrating to SAP BW on HANA or you are a consultant/administrator working in SAP BW, I'd highly recommend you to go through the slide deck on this topic (part of your TechEd package).

The second session was Understanding SAP HANA Database Performance (RDP302). Again this a great session by Richard Bremer covering Query execution. I'd have preferred this to be a longer session (may be 2 hours) with a demo covering the query visualization.
