Not only the instructor-led training courses, E-Learnings, and E-Academy but also the associated certification program has been revised for SAP HANA SPS06 and brings some news and changes. This summary provides an overview of changes to the new exam versions and provides guidance for questions that test candidates might have. - SAP Certified Application Associate – SAP HANA (C_HANAIMPxxx)
The overall structure and design of the exam has not changed significantly, though the contents are surely updated for the new software release. In addition the preparatory training path has been extended from 5 days of training (HA100/HA300) to 7 days in total by adding a new 2-day course focusing on data provisioning (HA350). This course combines existing contents –approx. 1 out of 2 days–, new hands-on, and some new contents on data provisioning.
Recommendation: Students that have taken the SPS05 versions of HA100/HA300 are advised to take the SPS05 exam version (C_HANAIMP_1). When they do not have the opportunity to take the SPS05 exam or prefer taking the newer exam version (C_HANAIMP131) it is recommended to take the HA350 (or HA350E E-Learning equivalent) in addition and study the respective sections of the SPS06 edition of the SAP HANA Modeling Guide. Please note that the new exam version also includes items that are not purely based on course contents and require some practical experience with SAP HANA (similar all previous exam versions).
- SAP Certified Technology Associate – SAP HANA (C_HANATECxxx)
The overall structure and design of the exam has not changed significantly, though the contents are surely updated for the new software release. In addition the preparatory training path has been extended from 5 days of training (HA100/HA200) to 7 days by adding 2 new days into the HA200 which now is a 5 day class. Major addition is “installation of SAP HANA” (approx. 1 day) combined with smaller supplements for various other topics.
Recommendation: Students that have taken the SPS05 versions of HA100/HA200 are advised to take the SPS05 exam version (C_HANATEC_1). When they do not have the opportunity to take the SPS05 exam or prefer taking the newer exam version it is recommended to intensely study the respective sections of the current SAP HANA Administration Guide. Please note that the new exam version also includes items that are not purely based on course contents and require some practical experience with SAP HANA (similar all previous exam versions).
- SAP Certified Application Professional – SAP HANA (P_HANAIMPxxx)
The overall structure and design of the exam has not changed significantly, though the contents are surely revised and valid for the new software release. The weighting of the various topics has been revised to reflect the current status of the consulting profile.
Recommendation: Test takers with intense practical experience on the previous versions of SAP HANA are advised to familiarize with relevant changes in the new SPS06 version. The Professional level exam is less tight to release specifics and instead relies more on proficiency gained through customer projects. Please note that this exam includes mainly items that are not based on course contents and require practical experience with SAP HANA.
- SAP Certified Support Associate – SAP HANA (C_HANASUP_1)
This certification exam had been launched in June and was created already with regards to the SAP HANA SPS06 version. Though the preparatory training path is changing with the SPS06 course versions the exam itself is not being changed.
Recommendation: Test takers should prepare using the new SPS06 course version of HA100E/HA200R (or the instructor-led course equivalents HA100/HA200). Alternatively they should have taken the SPS05 course versions. In both cases the additionally recommended materials are required for exam preparation (such as the SAP HANA Administration Guide). Please note that this exam also includes items that are not purely based on course contents and require some practical experience with SAP HANA.
- SAP Certified Technology Specialist – SAP HANA Installation (E_HANAINS131)
This new certification is addressing consultants and customers in technology roles with a special expertise in installing SAP HANA. The Specialist is an add-on certification for the profile of a SAP Certified Technology Associate. Test takers are mandated being certified in any of the SAP HANA Technology Associate certifications (C_HANATEC_1, C_HANATEC131) to qualify for the Specialist certification (E_HANINS131).
Recommendation: Only students that have taken the SPS06 version of HA200 are advised to apply for the certification exam. Aside from attending the course contents additionally recommended materials are required for exam preparation (such as the SAP HANA Installation Guide with Unified Installer or the SAP HANA Studio Installation Guide).
The following table summarizes the recommended training and certifications paths. It aims to help students understand which are valid certification possibilities based on the courses they have taken which may not necessarily be all of the same version of HANA.
