Soup, dumplings and strategy planning on the social sabbatical

Here is the final update from my social sabbatical in Shanghai. A very rewarding experience during which I learned a lot about myself and how to be more effective in my role at SAP as well as in my local community

Here is my update from week 3 in Shanghai

Here is my week 2 update from the social sabbatical program in Shanghai

My name is Andy Cobbold and I am lucky enough to have been selected as part of this years social sabbatical program. That means I have left my home in Vancouver and am working for 4 weeks in Shanghai, China with a non-profit organisation called NPI.

We are helping them build a strategic plan for the next 5 years as well as a plan for 2014 to both help engage the team as well as to get everyone pulling in the same direction. We are also having a lot of fun and enjoying some terrific food.

You can hear how the first week of this great experience has been in the video below

I just posted my final update from what has been a truly rewarding experience - I am very proud to work for a company that is genuinely trying to make a difference in this world, in part by donating the skills of its employees to non-profit organizations that really need the help 🙂
