#SAPTechED Day 1 Thoughts

Despite maybe being a bit too long you have to be impressed by what was shown during the Vishals keynote.   For a tech generalist it was like opening a pandora a box of new and exciting toys.  Speaking of toys if those 16-18 yr old kids can do what they do with Lego what won’t they be able to do post university?  Hope SAP has already signed them up as the sports scouts do for promising athletes.

Today’s highlight has to be where SAP is going with the Cloud. Cool UIX in Fiori and HTML5, simple connectivity with iFlows, extensions on a totally managed platform. If you haven’t signed up for Ginger Gatlings TEC108 Integrate Cloud Solutions using SAP HANA Cloud Integration on weds at 17.45 do it!  Not only is she enormously knowledgeable but her comic timing rivals many of the stand-up comedians in Vegas. She made me totally keen on getting my hands dirty integrating systems again.

Found the 30 min Expert sessions to be a great time filler but enormously difficult to hear the speakers. They should hand out headsets like when you go museum walking tours. Now wouldn’t that be a sight!  Should speakers carry little umbrellas too?

Bulk of day 2 will be spent in the Cloud but added a Big Data overview and master data governance roadmap to give my brain a diversion. Will be at Data&Technology Services pod between 14-16 if you want to chat.
