Introduction

Would you like to get first hands-on experience with SAP’s on demand integration solution called SAP Cloud Platform Integration (f.k.a HCI)? If yes, please join our trial program to explore the capabilities and benefits of cloud integration by yourself!

What is SAP Cloud Platform Integration?

SAP Cloud Platform Integration(in short referred as cloud integration) is a cloud-based integration platform hosted on SAP Cloud Platform for integrating cloud applications with other cloud and on-premise solutions. The solution supports both process and data integration needs. Since cloud integration is offered as a service, the on demand solution provides highest level of security features such as content encryption and signing, certificate based authentication, encrypted data storage, data isolation at runtime as well as persistency. Furthermore cloud integration provides capabilities such as runtime for processing, data transformation, routing of messages, and diverse connectivity options. As user interface to cloud integration there is a an HTML5-based web UI available to enable browse and discover standard integration content delivered by SAP, and also Eclipse based tools to create and modify integration artifacts, such integration flows, mappings, connectivity and security settings.

More information about cloud integration can be found at

What can I do with SAP Cloud Platform Integration during the trial phase?

As SAP Cloud Platform Integration is an on demand offering on SAP Cloud Platform, SAP can offer you a tenant in order to get first hands-on experience with our Cloud based integration solution. This tenant is running on SAP Cloud Platform with exclusive access for you. As part of the trial phase you  will create a simple integration scenario running on SAP Cloud Platform Integration for retrieving weather information by calling a public web service. The process will be initiated through a timer event and the result of the weather call will be written to a data store. Once this scenario runs successfully and you feel more familiar with SAP Cloud Platform Integration, you can create your own integration scenarios and run them on your  SAP Cloud Platform Integration tenant.

Why should I participate in the SAP Cloud Platform Integration trial phase?

First of all the trial phase provides you with a great opportunity to explore SAP Cloud Platform Integration and to develop and run your first cloud based integration scenarios. In case of any questions SAP would be there to support you. Through this trial phase of SAP Cloud Platform Integration you get an early insight into SAP’s new on demand integration offering, you can directly communicate with SAP’s product development organization, and you will get an early proof that the new functionality is suited for your business case. Secondly there is also something in for SAP, namely also for SAP it is very important to receive your feedback and requirements in order to immediately improve the product. Therefore your feedback will be made transparent to SAP’s development organization of SAP Cloud Platform Integration to include your suggestions into the planning of upcoming development cycles.

What do I need to do to get access to SAP Cloud Platform Integration Trial and where do I find further information?

In order to participate in our trial phase of SAP Cloud Platform Integration there is basically only one prerequisite required, namely you need to accept the legal terms. Are you interested or do you have any further questions on SAP Cloud Platform Integration? Please send a mail to hci.trial@sap.com.

  8. Gavin Quinn

    Hi Udo,

Great stuff. When can we expect the general release and how will it be priced?

Finally, can we use HCI to host content for multiple customers, or do we require one instance for each customer individually?

    (0)
    1. Udo Paltzer Post author

      Hi Gavin,

thank you very much for your interest into our SAP HCI trial program. Yes, SAP HCI is already in general availability since beginning of 2013. The pricing of SAP HCI is based on a monthly subscription fee. If you would like to learn more about the available editions for SAP HCI, kindly view the blog at http://scn.sap.com/community/hana-in-memory/blog/2014/09/25/sap-hana-cloud-integration-standard-and-professional-editions or send us a mail at.hci.trial@sap.com. And yes, you can use one SAP HCI tenant to create and modify content for multiple customers. The customers themselves would get different tenants to which they get access individually, so the customers would individually deploy the integration content on their own tenants.

I hope this info helps. Kindly let us know if you have any other questions around SAP HCI.

      Best regards, Udo

    Hi Udo,
    thanks for sharing this blog.
I’ve heard many interested parties asking about the available integration content
in order to see which business processes & products are already in the list.

Are all the SAP integration packages listed+updated under
    https://cloudintegration.hana.ondemand.com/ ?

On help.sap.com and service.sap.com, I did not yet find a detailed list.

    Thank you and kind regards
    Andreas

      Hi Andreas,

yes, definitely, the integration content is one of the key differentiatiors of SAP HCI. Actually, you can find more information about the available integration content for SAP HCI, besides the public content catalog at https://cloudintegration.hana.ondemand.com/ for example also on the SAP Service Marketplace at https://websmp201.sap-ag.de/~form/handler?_APP=00200682500000002672&_EVENT=DISPLAY&_SCENARIO=&_HIER_KEY=501100035870000020415&.  At http://help-sap.com/clouditegration you can find the user documentation, like developers guide, for SAP HCI.

I hope this information helps. Kindly let me know if you have any other questions around SAP HCI.

      Best regards, Udo

    Hi Udo,

I have watched your webinar on SAP HCI overview with Sindhu Gangadharan – which was very informative.

I have a question and hoping you could advice on it.

Can SAP HCI (HANA Cloud Integration)be used for integrating on-premise SAP ERP and Non-SAP ERP with the new SAP Predictive Maintenance and Service Cloud Edition?

If so, is there a pre-packaged iFlow for SAP Predictive Maintenance and Service Edition?

I believe it can be used but need your advice on the recommendation!

    Thanks in Advance!
