World’s most generous person I have ever seen

Let me start with this beautiful quote by Sam Levenson.

I was just scrolling down my Facebook wall and I saw a post shared by a friend of mine and that post really got my attention and I thought I should share that with you people. When I went through that post in detail it was unbelievable for me. After reading that post, I Googled and gathered some information about the topic which I am going to share with you.

As you have seen the subject of this blog is most generous person in the world. It is not only about money we give but giving can be in any kind. In today’s busy life time is the most precious thing that we have and if someone is sharing his time with you it means he is sharing a precious part of his life. Some people donate money which is very easy for those who have enough money to share with needy people. Some people donate blood, organs and other cherished. People say that no one has ever become poor by giving and Mother Teresa said that it is not how much we give but how much love we put into giving. I believe that we all should share our blessings with those who need these. If you can’t help someone by giving him some money, you can give him a smile and some kind words. Sometime a smile can bring that happiness which could never come with huge amount of money. Since this blog is related to financial charity so I would like to share some facts and realities with you guys.

In this era for most of the people and families it is hard to manage their budget and monthly expenses but still there are a lot of rich people who have enough money more than they could ever need. These people share their riches with poor and with some NGOs. Some people publicize their donations and others don’t like to publicize and they do it secretly. In my religion Islam, God says that you should give from your one hand in a way that the other hand would never get to know that you have donated something but unfortunately some people donate to show off and some people donate for other materialistic purposes. Let me share some of the biggest donors or you can say generous people in the world who publicize their donations.

Bill Gates

Since we are all in information technology and I am pretty sure that we all know Bill Gates by his name. According to my research he is most generous guy in this world who shares his wealth we needy people. In recently published millionaires list Bill Gates is on 2nd top of the list with $67 Billion and he has donated more than $28 Billion to his own charity, The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

Warren Buffet

Warren Buffet is fourth richest person in the world according to 2013 top billionaires list. He is also from US and is CEO, Chairman of Berkshire Hathaway. He has donated almost $17.3 Billion to Bill Gates foundation. Like Bill Gates Warren Buffet is also a self-made billionaire.

George Soros

Although Georg Soro is not in the top ten millionaire list but still he is a business tycoon in US and Hungary and is chairman of Soros Fund Management. He donates his money for political causes, human rights and education. He has donated more than $8 Billion.

Mark Zuckerberg

I am sure you all know this name. Yes he is the guy who has honor of being founder of Facebook and currently he is chairman and CEO of Facebook. According to 2013 his personal wealth was estimated to be around $18.8 Billion. Aside from investing his wealth in Facebook, he is also letting other needy people have taste of his wealth. He has donated around $498 Million and this is just a beginning because he is too young to be a millionaire. In coming years who knows how far his generosity could go. He is the guy who started his Facebook from his university and now this is most opened website in the world. What a good luck for this youngster who attends most of the meetings in one grey T-Shirt 🙂

These are the names of some people with widely publicized donations to charitable foundations. There are also others who continue to make donations and they also publicize but I am not going to share each of them because I have to share the person who made me to write this blog.

P. Kalyanasundaram

As you have seen that most generous people have shared some fraction of their wealth for some foundations and needy people. This fraction could be in thousands, millions or billions based on their actual wealth but have you ever seen a person who has shared his whole life earnings in charity. Yes! this is the the Man of the Millennium Mr. Kalyanasundaram who is from Tamil Nadu in India. This man has worked for social causes for more than 45 years. He was a librarian for 30 years and in his 30 years career he donated his every month’s full salary for social cause. On his retirement he got pension of around 1 Million Indian Rupees which he again donated for his social cause. He worked as a server in hotel for his personal expenses. He has spent his whole life for this cause. An American organization honored him for his services with Man of the Millennium award with reward of 30 million Indian Rupees which he donated to his charity. Hats off for this person.

Apart from his social life he was the best librarian in India and was in top ten librarians all over the world. Rajinikankh a super star in India inspired by his generosity and adopted him as his father. Mr. Kalyanasundaram still stays as a bachelor and he has dedicated his whole life for the society. I wonder if he could have blessings similar to Mark Zuckerberg or Bill Gates what change would he bring in India. One strange thing is that after this much fame and social services he still doesn’t has any wikipedia page. May be some of his lover would create his wikipedia page so that more people could know about this great man.
