     - Buy42 mission and now OURS.

As we embark into our second week of Social Sabbatical in China, it is never too late to briefly mention about the Buy42 opportunity which we are engaged.

Buy42 - Introduction
Buy42 is the first online charity shop in China, founded in 2010.
Zhou Xian, Founder and Chief Enabling Officer of Buy42 has dedicated her full time, heart and soul to venture into an altogether new area in China, a Social Innovation Model.
With its main office in Shanghai and an operations Center in Nantong, Buy42 is an inclusive organization of 20+ employees with 50% of the workforce being disabled. The vision of creating an "Inclusive Development Model" for China is not just a motivation for other social entrepreneurs in China, but has been one of the biggest inspiration for me and my team.
Our goal is to outreach the current donation model to an untapped large Expat community in Shanghai which would not only enable high quality donations but will also enable Zhou Xian's long term plan for influencing companies to create an inclusive development model.

Journey so far
The journey in the last week has been not only awe-inspiring for the team but has been overwhelming for me personally.
It has just reaffirmed my decision of opting for Social Sabbatical.
I have had the pleasure and opportunity to meet a diverse set of people over the last week, which i have not come across over an entire decade.
From CSR executives in foreign embassies to journalists of a popular magazine, a planned visit to an executive at a popular Hotel chain and then to plan a sustainable model around this, has been a challenge and an opportunity which i have not come across so far. And we are just into the second week of our assignment with many more exciting prospects ahead.

An opportunity to cherish for a long, long time.
Last but not the least, not to forget the JA (Junior Achievement) Volunteer program, dinner with Clas Neumann and watching Aamir Khan at Buy42 office in China
Yes, we watched a program on stories of disability from Aamir Khan's "Satyamev Jayate" show of last year along with Buy42 team with subtitles in English and Mandarin.

Social Sabbatical Team
For each one of us, a Social Sabbatical team will be the most diverse team to have worked with.
In any assignment, a team with such a diverse professional and personal background will be a complex puzzle to decode.
But in an assignment with a common social cause, a disparate team becomes an united Family.
And, below is the China Sabbatical Family (Photo courtesy: Cris)

It has been exciting to work with Kat and Cris who brings in lot of different perspectives for each of the project objectives.

We foresee the most exciting two weeks ahead with lot of stakeholder engagements and donation opportunities lined up.

Three cheers for SAP42... More cheers in my next update.
