10 years passed and it still seems like yesterday. In early 2003 when SDN was just a 3 letter acronym on a set of slides, none of us thought too much about its impact when scnis10.
We launched at SAP TechEd 2003 here in Las Vegas with a mission to recruit every possible developer. Out recruiting technique was very simple: If you register to become a community member, you get a t-shirt. At the end of the conference we had around 3,000 members and lots of empty boxes.
Both SCN and TechEd continued to evolve and in-depth technical content presented at TechEd was made available to the community, first on DVD sets and later via the SAP TechEd Online site. Over the years, as SCN grew by a thousand-fold, TechEd became the place for the virtual community to meet face to face in, and around, the community clubhouse.
Tomorrow, TechEd 2013 starts here in Las Vegas – the perfect place to wish SCN a happy birthday and many more to come!
