Login to the portal system with user who has administrator access and navigate to System Administration –> System Landscape –>
Portal Content right click and New –> System
Assigning Alias
Goto system Aliases and add system alias
Connecting to backend system
Connect to Backend
1.4) Checking connection to the backend system
Navigate to Connection Tests

The profile parameters need to be set in the IS-Retail system for the backend connection to work,
