Security tops most IT managers’ requirements to embrace mobility. It’s a no brainer. You’d never drive without a seatbelt – and you’d never let your devices, apps and content loose unless they’re secure.

This year at SAP TechEd we have a great lineup of sessions diving into the topic of mobile security. Whether you’re just getting started or are taking the next step to secure apps and content, we’ve got the sessions you’re looking for. These session include all of the products in the Mobile Secure portfolio: SAP Afaria, SAP Mobile Documents and SAP Mobile App Protection by Mocana.

Mobile and cloud are closely entwined. In our first lecture of the week you’ll learn how to meet strict security requirements to ensure devices, apps, and content are protected – all in the cloud. MOB123 is a demo-filled session presented by Mobile Secure product manager Mark Wright. In this session, you’ll gain insight into how to maintain the highest levels of security entirely in the cloud. Our first cloud solution (sapafaria.com) launched at Sapphire in May 2013. We’re excited to be announcing a new addition to our cloud portfolio at TechEd. If you don’t have IT resources onsite, we’ll show you how to eliminate the complexity and expense of an on-premise installation.

If you’ve already started securing your mobile devices or if you’re thinking about a BYOD strategy, you’ll want to learn more about SAP Afaria. In MOB119, expert product manager James Naftel will take a deep dive into SAP Afaria. You’ll learn how to quickly self-enroll mobile devices for enterprise use and gain control by pre-configuring settings and enforcing security and compliance policies on iOS, Android and Windows Phone 8 devices. Hot topics will include Samsung Knox, iOS 7 and SAP’s internal use of Afaria to manage 50,000 mobile devices.

Easy access to content and apps is critical to the success of mobile workers in every industry. Our third Mobile Security session gives an overview of two additional components of the SAP Mobile Secure portfolio. In MOB118, product manager Matt Carrier will show you how SAP Mobile Documents mobile content management solution can help solve the demand for accessing personal business documents and corporate content on mobile devices. He’ll also explore mobile app security through “app wrapping” with SAP Mobile App Protection by Mocana. This is a fantastic overview session for anyone who cares about security and wants to move beyond securing only at the device level.

After each of the above three sessions you can meet the product managers for networking Q&A sessions. Get your questions answered in these sessions:

Finally, we have a session that will give an overview of all Mobile Security Roadmaps for the products mentioned above. This will give you another opportunity to meet all of the product managers including our fearless leader Senthil Krishnapillai.

I encourage you to come meet me and all of our Mobile Security experts at our booth in the exhibit hall. We’re happy to show you demos and get you started with trials of any of these technologies. See you at TechEd!
