Setting a URL for an Offline Site
As a site author, there are cases when your published site is not accessible to your viewers. This could be for various reasons, either the entire account is in maintenance or you just took your site offline on your own.
Either way, whenever your site will be accessed, the viewers will get the default maintenance page.
That’s all great, but what if you would like to show your own maintenance page with your own look&feel? or maybe redirect the user to the company homepage?
Easy. Just set the needed URL on the authoring space in your site.
- In the side-panel menu, click (Site Settings). The Site Settings panel opens.
- In the URL Redirect When Site is Down section, you can click the Default downtime page link to view the downtime-message page delivered with Cloud Portal, which is used by default when the system is offline.
- To redirect to a different page or URL, click (Edit) and enter the required URL in the framed field.
- Click (Save). You can check the link by clicking the URL, which displays the page in a separate browser tab. You can use the Revert to default link to cancel your latest selection and return to the Cloud Portal default downtime-message page.
That’s it! when your site is offline or even if the entire account is down for maintenance, your users will never feel lost again. 😉
