#SAPTechEd 2013: Share the Knowledge Mission and Competition

20,000 people get to go to SAP TechEd every year. However, that’s just a drop in the bucket of people hanging out on SAP Community Network. How can these other SCN members get the most out of an event they cannot attend? One way, of course, is through participating in the event virtually, through SAP TechEd 2013 Online.

This year, there have been several missions developed that strengthen the connection between SCN and SAP TechEd.  One of these new missions we’re offering asks SCN members who attend SAP TechEd in Las Vegas, Amsterdam, and/or Bangalore as well as those who watch SAP TechEd Online to share what they’ve learned with the rest of SCN – SAP TechEd 2013: Share the Knowledge.

Starting on October 19, in-person attendees and viewers of SAP TechEd Online are encouraged to blog about what they’ve learned this year at SAP TechEd.  We want you to share key tips and tricks you plan to implement in your job.  Discuss a piece of sample code that you are going to put to use. Recollect a conversation that changed how you plan to work with SAP software and solutions going forward.

Anything key or important you learned during lectures, hands-on workshops, product roadmap Q&A sessions, networking sessions, or on the show floor at the Technology Showcase or Info Zone are all good topics to discuss. All activities at SAP TechEd, not just the sessions, are perfect possibilities for learning. So, if you have a fantastic conversation with a fellow attendee over a beer at the demo jam that provided you with insight or new knowledge, this is also great to share with the community on SCN!

And to get you even more excited about Share the Knowledge, we’re making the mission a competition. In January, we will announce the finalists – the best 25 blogs received as well as the 4 winners – one for Las Vegas, Amsterdam, Bangalore, and SAP TechEd Online.  Badges and points will be given for each stage of the competition just to make it a little bit sweeter! I’ll post the opening blog with the instructions on how to participate in SAP TechEd 2013: Share the Knowledge by October 19.  So keep an eye out for the announcement on SCN or follow @SAPTechEd on twitter!

So as you start your preparations for SAP TechEd, remember to bring a notebook to collect your thoughts, learnings, and key insights to share with the community after SAP TechEd is over during SAP TechEd 2013: Share the Knowledge!

I think people are really going to love the "Share the Knowledge" badge. Great idea to gamify this, Christina!

Several times in the past when I attended an SAP event I took notes, planning to share my experience in a blog. Do you think I did it? No, never. I came back to the office with a huge pile of things to do, more emails, and never took the time to write the blog post. Hopefully this mission will motivate me to be different this year!

      Game on.

      You didn't? tisk tisk...

My previous TechEd Aftermatch blogs where the ones that caught the most attention of all blogs I ever wrote. 20K in 2 weeks.

That in itself is already a big reward 🙂

So dig up those notes and be sure to launch your blog this year as well. It would be interesting to get a view on the "experience behind the scenes"
