You are set. You are savvy. You know everything, and have your schedule set up! But I have a secret - one that isn't well kept but one that is fun! Your experts - you can have some face time with them. They are just hanging out waiting for you to show up. No really, they are, they are doing nothing but waiting for you during set times.
I'm an expert!!! Do you want to know where I'll be waiting for you at? We'll get to that. I had to say it. It was bouncing around on my tongue. Gosh I love Teched! It's my favorite place to be during the year.
Networking session 1:
So what will my expert networking sessions be about? Well I have two. One will be a session to bring your own tips and tricks for ABAP programming. I know, I know, you are thinking everyone knows this trick by now. Guess what, if only one person didn't know it, it's worth bringing up. I'll share some of my tips and tricks. And we'll see where this will go. By the end of the session, I hope to have gathered some old and new tricks. With our new setup, I'll get to - if you let me - scan your badges. This will give me your e-mail and I'll send everything we get out of the session to you. It will be fun! We will meet each other and share information. How cool is that?
Networking session 2:
My second session is a debriefing session or a brain dump. You know when you get back to work, and you've forgotten everything? Well while your still at Teched it is still fresh in your mind. Let's talk. I'd love to know what you think about some of the sessions. If I missed them, I'd love to hear anything you'd like to share. I'll share my experiences in different sessions. One rule: NO NEGATIVES. Only talk about the good sessions, what you liked, what tricks you learned, that kind of thing. It should be a blast!!! Oh yeah, the disadvantage it is at the end of the day. People could be a little tired by then. I know I will be. But that's OK. Once we get talking I'm sure I'll perk up.
So --- yes during each of those half an hour sessions, I do nothing unless someone shows up. I sit there, and wait. Sadly, all alone until someone comes to chat with me. And guess what? So do other experts. Look at your schedules and find some time to go to one of them. You won't be disappointed...
