The document describes how to pop up Variable Entry Screen for a BEx report without modifying Analysis Pattern

Scenarios:

1. A report is designed in such a way that no variables are compulsory. Hence, Variable Entry Screen does not appear after opening the report on portal
2. Sometimes we do not want to do Global setting in Analysis Pattern to always show Variable Entry Screen. We wish to do such settings only for one report

Steps for settings to always pop up Variable Entry Screen without modifying Analysis Pattern:

1. Find a backend role in which a BEx report is added in Authorization Data
2. Run the transaction PFCG
3. Enter the required role and click on the Change button
4. Select the Menu tab
5. Right click on Report Name and choose Change Node
6. Pop up window shows Text and Object Description of the report
7. Append &Variable_screen=x at the end of Object Description field value
8. Save the role
9. Right click on the Report Name and choose Details to view new portal link which will look as follows:
