  • While working with the Webi Reports, there is a requirement to display the data in sections and hide some sections based on some business conditions or hide the sections when there is no data in the blocks.
  • It has been observed that if the developers select the "hide when empty" check box from the section properties, a blank row still appears for that particular section.

  • One of the ways to get rid of this issue it to write a variable for section headers with a formula to make the section header null when some particular condition is met. Then, go to the section properties and mark the "Hide section when the following are empty" check box. In the drop down next to the same, please select the same variable for section header.

  • Basically, all the business conditions wherein you wish to hide the section may be written in the variable to be used for section header, which will be further used to hide the section.
