So, here at my office everyone is abuzz, we’re training on new tech and getting new (hopefully) hardware. Specifically SAP HANA.

Now you see the excitement.

Not only is it a chance to go completely green-field and de-clutter our already cluttered BW, it is new technology that’s in memory and really cutting edge. (I mean Oracle has yet to catch up…)

This has induced a lot of growing pains however, in my new role here I am a Functional Analyst, so I’m not as technical as I used to be. (I still sneak development stuff though) Since I am the direct face to the business however it is my job to aleve or eliminate these things. One of these tasks is culling our massive herd of BeX queries. In one area we have 300+ quereis Y and Z. Some of the other tasks include bringing our users around to their new tools, as they are almost exclusively on BeX Analyzer in Excel….yes, they are on the crack. It’s part of my job to wean them off.

This is going to be a fun ride – Stay tuned.
