Today is another simple lesson.  It is something that is typically done once, and doesn’t often need to be revisited.  This step allows you to set the default time units for the service order operations.  Really easy, but really valuable, especially if you don’t use general task lists.

Here’s where you can find the configuration to update this.

Now, you’ll notice that is not service order type specific.  It is purely plant specific. For this reason, it won’t often change.

Norm.duratn un. = this is the duration of the entire order

Unit for work = this is the time unit for the operation.

Typically it’s set to H or HR (depending on your organization).  However, please be sure to work with your production people to be sure you are being consistent in your units, especially when dealing with hours.
