SAP’s 7th annual SAP Retail Forum and SAP Retail Leadership

Summit is two short days away! While the grills in Dallas are

getting the BBQ ready, TheWestin Galleria Dallas will roll out the red carpet October 7 – 9.  In

addition to the interesting key note speakers, General Mike Hayden and author Scott McKain, and the retail leadership summits, the SAP Retail Solution team will also be on hand to demo their newest solution and app innovations, some of which will be rolling around town in SAP’s Big Data Bus!

SAP’s Hana and Predictive Analytics play a central role in many of the new solutions SAP will show case at the SAP Retail Forum.  Real-time targeted marketing and the idea of the 360 customer experience are also playing a big role in many of SAP’s front house solution innovations this Forum. Putting the customer at the center of their retail solution suite, SAP Precision Marketing, SAP’s My Runway app, and SAP 360 Customer give retailers a complete view of their customer across all channels and give them tools to effectively interact with those customers.  SAP Precision Marketing is able to learn customers buying habits well enough to send them targeted ads to their smart phone when they are near or, for that matter in the retailer’s store.  Sending targeted, relevant offers will not only increase conversion and UPT (units per transaction), but delivering the offer in a timely, convenient medium, such as a smart phone, will enable the customer to use the offer right away and not just leave the coupon or flyer on the kitchen counter, with the reusable shopping bags that, despite best intentions, rarely make it out of the house.

SAP will also be showcasing their back office solutions centering on merchandise planning, promotions planning, strategic sourcing and buying, social and predictive analytics, and one of their newest acquisitions, SAP Success Factors.  In addition to these solutions, SAP will show their newest user interface innovations, SAP Fiori and SAP Screen Personas, which enable the user to personalize their screen for their job function, and their interests. Say goodbye to blue and white backdrops on your screens and heelloo to the pictures of that awesome day at the beach with your family and friends!

One very exciting new innovations SAP released this summer is the Customer Activity Repository, or CAR, a new solution platform that enables businesses to gain a holistic view on consumer demand and data and consumer interaction information across all channels and all geographies in real time.  In layman’s terms, what does this mean to today’s retailer?  It means fast access to all their customer data across all channels, plus the ability to quickly analyze it to create assortment plans, last minute promotion plans, and marketing events that will reach your customer.

Last, but not least, the SAP Big Data Bus will also be rolling up to the Westin Galleria Dallas, and around town, showing SAP Hana and Predictive analytics through a variety of interactive games and demo’s, like bingo to show SAP Real Time Offer Management, and a fully automated vending machine to show how inventory and sales data can be managed in real time.  The supply chain can be automatically triggered to replenish inventory and you can gain valuable consumer insight into demand and trends directly from the sales collected at the point of purchase. Talk about having your Sun Chips and eating them too!

A full schedules and complete list of demos are available on the SAP Retail Forum website.
