Hiding Reports in CMC but allowing access to them via hyperlinks
Pretty quickly after you start using Hyperlinks, you encounter a situation where you have a target report sitting on the server visible to everyone that
you don’t want people to be able to see/access on its own.
Luckily there is a method to hide reports from view, but still allow access via hyperlinks/opendoc. You can do this via CMC…
1.Create following folders in this hirarchy,
Parent Folder > Hidden Folder – > Child Folder.
Parent Folder – Normal access
Hidden Folder – No Access
Child folder – Refresh on Demand Access
2.Store the main report in the Parent folder
3.Store your target report(s) in the Child folder
The hidden folder prevents the Child folder from being viewed/accessed, but the open doc functionality can still see/access the Child folder.
Thanks. This was extremely helpful

This is very useful, BUT...
How to make sure that "Hidden folder" objects do not appear in search?
Because then that compromises security setup anyhow, or how you limit visibility to only a) visible folders or b) objects that are referenced by shortcut?
