SAP PI 7.1 Performance Report Using SAP Lumira

This blog describes about various types of report generation using SAP Lumira that must be carried out to support a PI system.

Performance Monitor:

Monitor the performance of message processing on the Advanced Adapter Engine by inspecting the amount of processed data over various periods of time and the message processing time at individual adapter modules.

SAP Lumira:

Using SAP Lumira Application we can generate reports using spreadsheet-like fashion and get even more out of your data. It is very easy to modify your reports by adding, sorting, or hiding fields and records.

SAP Lumira Usage:

Generate Reports on data from other applications

SAP Lumira is the tool which help us to create various reports with information from SAP PI information copied in any spreadsheet (MS Excel).

Here are some examples of what you can do with no programming skills:

Create reports using SAP Lumira Application:

Step 1:

Open Run time Workbench
Enter your user name and password
Click Performance Monitoring

You will see, different types of Display options. Select the display mode as per your requirements.

Overview Aggregated
Overview Individually
Detailed Data Aggregated
Detailed Data Individually

Overview Aggregated:

Select Display >> Overview Aggregated
Data Source >> Check Radio Button IS
Processing Mode >> Blank
Time Interval >> This Week
Aggregation Interval >> 1 Day

Click Display Option Tab
Check the Component Box
Check the Interface Box
Click Start Button

This will generated Consolidated Interface Details and Click download button. Then save it to notepad.
Then change and save file format as in XLS format (Excel).
Upload the XLS sheet into SAP Lumira, then generate different types of reports and charts.

Overview Individually:

Select Display >> Overview Individually
Data Source >> Check Radio Button IS
Processing Mode >> Blank
Time Interval >> This Week
Aggregation Interval >> 1 Day

This report will generate message individually.

Detailed Data Aggregated:

Select Display >> Detailed Data Aggregated
Data Source >> Check Radio Button IS
Processing Mode >> Blank
Time Interval >> This Week
Aggregation Interval >> 1 Day
Click Extended Search >> Enter Sender Component, Sender Interface, Sender Namespace, Receiver Component, Receiver Interface, Receive Namespace
Click Start

This will help us to generate complete pipeline steps and all the pipeline information (Split) with Size, Processing Time, Rate will be displayed.

If you are not providing in extended search with all the details like Sender Component, Sender Interface, Sender Namespace, Receiver Component, Receiver Interface, Receive Namespace. You will get the error message mentioned below:

Similarly, you will get the same error message for “Detailed Data Individually”. Also provide Extended Search with all the details like Sender Component, Sender Interface, Sender Namespace, Receiver Component, Receiver Interface, Receive Namespace. To avoid the below error message, please provide all the details mentioned above.

Detailed Data Individually:

Select Display >> Detailed Data Individually
Data Source >> Check Radio Button IS
Processing Mode >> Blank
Time Interval >> This Week
Aggregation Interval >> 1 Day

This report will be generated detailed data with every message ID individually with all the pipe line details.

Report Generation:

Import PI Interface details like Execution Start Date, Execution End Date, Execution Start Time, Execution End Time, Sender Component, Sender Interface, Receiver Component, Receiver Interface, Total Number of Interfaces, Processing Time, Size (Bytes), Rate (Msg/h), from Excel sheet into SAP Lumira to generate Daily, Weekly, Monthly as well as yearly PI Performance reports.

PI Volume Report:
