TRDA – How to install it via SAPlink

It is possible to import TRDA with a dedicated nugget (see TRDA – Frequently asked questions for more information). However, it is important to note that this version of TRDA is not 100% the same as the one provided via transport requests, as no abap unit tests will be included in order to simplify the installation procedure. Hence, the last release will always be provided via transport request first, and then as nugget file once it is considered stable…

So, to install the nugget you’ll have to go through the following steps :

First, if package ZCEX_TRDA doesn’t exist in your system, create it :

Then start tcode SE38 and execute report ZSAPLINK to import the most recent TRDA nugget file (see TRDA – Release notes) :

In case missing plugins are detected, install them first (all plugins are available here). In the example below ZSAPLINK should be run again after plugins for object types CLAS and ACID are successfully installed and activated :

If everything goes fine, you should see a few popups asking you where to include the newly created objects. Select package ZCEX_TRDA for each of them, and click save (the system might ask you for transport requests as well).

At the end, only green lights should be displayed:

You can now go to SE80 and activate everything, beginning with dictionary objects, then classes and programs.
