SAP CodeJam in Beijing and Shanghai

SAP CodeJam is an activity of computer programming and networking. All participants will share knowledge through communication and collaboration, to explore, use and develop SAP technology, platform and tools. Many students have already participated in SAP HANA Talent
University Competition, learned the online courses and got certifications, and SAP CodeJam enables the hands-on practice on SAP HANA for students. 

SAP CodeJam was held respectively in Beijing and Shanghai, on 25th Sep and 27th Sep.

SAP CodeJam, Beijing, 25^th September 2013

52 students from 7 Universities attended the SAP CodeJam held in Beijing at Software school of Beijing Institute of Technology, including Tsinghua University, Peking University, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, Beijing Institute of Technology, Central University of Finance and Economics, and Beijing Jiaotong University.

In the morning, Jenny Yang, Senior Manager of University Alliances, gave an opening address to all participants, and introduced the background of CodeJam and SAP HANA Talent Competition. Excellent participants of the competition can have the opportunity to join China Sapphire to be held in Beijing this November.

After that, Wu Xuening, Chief Expert of SAP SCE APJ, talked about the hot topic --“Big Data”. Several real cases shared by the speaker made students understand that information technology are highly affecting our daily life. He also introduced the strategy, framework and applications of SAP HANA.

The main content of the activity in the afternoon was a 3-hour hands-on practice. Cao Xiaohua from SAP SCE APJ guided the students to build a project on SAP HANA Studio. Students were given access to SAP HANA platform which enables them to use the build-in modeling tools.

55 students from 6 Universities attended SAP CodeJam held in SAP Labs China, including Shanghai Jiaotong University, Fudan University, Tongji University, Nanjing University, Southeast University and East China University of Science and Technology.

In the morning, Tan Shengtao, Senior Manager of SAP Community Network delivered the welcome speech and introduced the background of the event. He also presented the social communities of SAP from which students can approach to various learning resources.

Then Wu Xuening and Cao Xiaohua from SAP SCE APJ gave the lectures and guided the students to do the hands-on practice in the afternoon.

Throughout the Jam, students actively interacted with the trainers and UA team. What’s more, they leveraged this great network opportunity to make new friends from different universities. It’s a great event to promote SAP branding among higher education. Meanwhile, SAP HANA technology has been widely promoted.
