How To Create Sales Funnel Component using Dashboard Design

Hello Folks ,

Many Time we come across Tricky requirements wherein the Client is very keen on getting it done at any cost.

In this Document we are going to experience a similar requirement which was placed by our client for CRM Dashboards.

The client asked for something like Sales Funnel which would display the Status of sales at various stages using Xcelsius

Dashboards but unfortunately such Component is not available in any version of Xcelsius , Henceforth we went for Some Flash

Addons which unfortunately failed to meet the exact requirement of client . But Finally we achieved the Task by Playing some small

Tricks which resulted in a Wonder .

Step to Create Sales Funnel :

Step 1 :

Drag and Drop  Area Chart and Stacked  Column Chart in Canvas .

Step 2 : Go to Properties of  Stacked Column Chart and add no of series required depending on no  of

KPI’S or stages in your Report , In this example we will add 3 Series .

And then un-check the option for Vertical, Horizontal Axis as well as un-check Major and Minor Gridlines and all

remaining Titles or Subtitles such that just a single Bar will be visible as shown below .

Step 2 :  Go to Properties of Area Chart and add a single series with range values as 70,35,0,35,70  as shown below .

And then like Stacked Chart un-check the option for Vertical, Horizontal Axis as well as un-check Major and Minor Gridlines and all

remaining Titles or Subtitles such that just a single Bar will be visible as shown below .

Step 3 :

Then Overlap Area Chart on Stacked Column chart as shown below .

Note :you have to adjust the size of both the charts such that the edges and points are aligned properly.

Step 4 :  Go to Canvas Properties and set Background Color as Black

Note : Background color should be same as Area Chart Plot Color.

And in this way our Sales Funnel Component is Ready to use in Dashboard .

      Hi,

      Nice doc......

Will it work dynamically? Because if the values changes then we have to overlap once again

      Thanks,

      Venkadesan

      Venkadesan ,

Yeah it will work dynamically and we have already implemented this for a very Big Media Client for CRM Project and size of Stack chart and Area Chart should be arranged appropriately .

      Regards

      Jeetan

      Jeetan,

      Thanks for you clarification.

I have tried with 4 series in the stacked chart. once i added the series, the stacked chart gone out of range.

For this situation , do we need to arrange the Stack and area chart once again?

      Hii ,

Arrange Height of Stack Chart in such a manner that even if you add multiple series it won't

      go out of range .

      Regards
