Are you going to SAP TechEd this year? Have you already registered?

If not, you know what to do: Register Now. When you go through the registration process, be sure and enter your SCN ID (which is NOT your user name or email address, BTW ‒ here’s how you find your SCN ID.) This way you’ll be eligible for SAP TechEd missions and badges on SCN.

The first badge you’ll earn, just for registering and including your SCN ID, is the “I’ll Be There” badge. TE_sapteched13_Illbethere_75.png

Now, it’s certainly nice to have this badge, but even better is seeing who else you know who has it, which tells you if they are going too. If another SCN member has the badge, and you’re already following each other, you can DM (direct message) each other and plan to connect before, during, or after the event. It’s taking the power of SCN and those member connections to the next level—meeting face-to-face.

WhichLocation2.jpgIf someone has the badge on their profile, you can see which location they’re registered for by hovering over the badge. You may even notice some folks, like speakers and SCN team members, who have more than one badge because they’re going to more than one SAP TechEd location.

NOTE: We award these badges on a weekly basis, not immediately, so it might take a few days before you see one on your profile. And although we are starting with badges for Las Vegas attendees first, we will award badges for other SAP TechEd locations as well as time goes on, so please enter your SCN ID no matter which location(s) you plan to attend.

If you’re already registered, don’t worry, you can still add your SCN ID to your registration. Here’s how!

  1. Find your registration confirmation email (sender should be SAP TechEd 2013 and the subject should be SAP TechEd 2013 <location> Registration Confirmation) and note your confirmation number.
  2. Go to Access My Registration and enter that confirmation number and password to log in.
    TERegLoginAMS.jpg
The Access My Registration Record screen appears.
  3. Select Edit your Personal Information.
  4. On the Personal Information screen, scroll down past the mobile number and email address and Twitter handle input fields, until you get to the section titled “SAP Community Network (SCN) ID.”

  5. Enter your SCN ID in the input field.
(This is an I-, D-, C-, S-, or P-number. Here’s how to find your SCN ID.)
  6. Scroll to the bottom of the screen and click the Continue button.

Your changes are saved, and the next time we do an upload of the “I’ll Be There” badge for your location, your badge will appear on your SCN profile Bio tab.

    Hi Audrey

Is there a way to list everyone who has got this badge? I like the idea and I think it would be really cool if we can visibly see who is going.

    Best regards

    Tom

      Hi Tom,

Unfortunately we don’t have that capability right now. It would be great to have this for any badge, in fact, not just the TechEd Attendee badges.

      .

Laure Cetin can confirm, but I think it’s a capability we want to develop in the future.

Meanwhile, I look forward to seeing you at TechEd Amsterdam!

      Regards,

      Audrey

Your first???    Very cool.  You are in for so much fun!   Don’t forget to pick up a ribbon to add to you badge.    It will be a great conversation starter.

OK – NOW I’m getting excited….   It’s almost here!   Teched Las Vegas.  It’s almost like Christmas for me.   I wait until it’s almost here to get excited.  I neve know what could happen at work…    At home…   And besides I would be jumping up and down like this for even longer.   Flight.  Check.  Hotel.  Check.  Registered. Check.  Ready to speak. Almost check – I’m never 100% ready till I start.  Bags.   Really?  Yes, I really have some things packed already.  😉    Ready to be exhausted.  Check.  I can’t wait to see you all!

Since I was called out for not being gamified enough yet, you will definitely see me in the clubhouse getting my badge 🙂   I also am looking forward to seeing everyone. I’ll be at the graffiti wall when I’m taking breaks. So come say hi!

    Hi Audrey,

This is a great mission, thanks. You say “The first badge you’ll earn, just for registering and including your SCN ID”. – Is there a list of other /  subsequent badges and points? eg for speaking…? Just asking 🙂 .

    Best wishes, Julie.

      Hi Julie,

Yes, actually, there are a few other badges that can be earned, such as the Clubhouse badge and the Share the Knowledge badge. See the SAP TechEd section of this list for more information.

Hi Sandra, as stated in the post, we award these badges on a weekly basis, not immediately, so it might take a few days before you see one on your profile. Thanks for your patience!

Hi Audrey, thanks for your reply. I’ve added my SCN id a few weeks ago. Than it disappeared and I filled it out a week ago again. So I think something is going wrong here. Thanks for your help, and sorry for my impatience.

        Best,

        Sander

I attended TechEd 2012 and 2013, and I was able to update my registration with my S-Number however I don’t know if I’m too late to the party to get my badge.  (Assuming it’s probably too late to get my 2012 badge!)

          Hi Jitendra,

It takes a week time to get the badge from the date of registration. So wait for some more time and you will get that shiny teched badge.

Lets try to catch up at Teched.

          Regards,

          AL

      Hi Jitendra,

Rama and Anshu were correct; it takes a little while for the badge to be awarded. It’s there now for you.

Have a great time at TechEd Bangalore!

    Hi Audrey,

I added my p-number to my registration just a few days after the event (TechEd Amsterdam). Is it still possible to get the badge?

    Regards,

    Hi Audrey,

I attended SAP TechEd 2013 Las Vegas. I did not provide my SCN ID during registration. However, I updated my registration with SCN ID recently. Can you please award me the SAP TechEd Badge.

    Regards

    Abani
