Data Upload without Programming Using MS-Word Mail Merge
Create BDC in SAP thru SHDB.
Start Recording
Select Choose (F2)
Fill amount and save.
Save Recording
And select Export
Save local folder.(Text Format BDC_RECORDING) (this file will be referred as 1st text file)
prepare excel data file and maintain header fields (the file which has to be uploaded)

Then open the recorded text file in WORD FORMAT.
- Select Mailings à Start Mail Merge à Step by step Mail merge wizard
Select Browse
Select your excel data file (which has to be uploaded)
Click Next: Write your letter.
Complete 4 and 5 steps
Click 6th step Complete the merge
Select your Recorded Field and Insert Merge Field (Ex:Plant).
Change all fields to insert merge fields (Respective headings given in the Excel data upload file)
Click Edit Individual letters
Click OK.
Save as other formats
Select Save ‘Plain Text’ format
Click Ok, then the file will be saved in plain text format.(this file will be referred as 2nd text file)
Go to SAP SHDB Transaction
Click Import & select the plain text format (2nd text file)
Click Process
Select Processing Mode – N Background Processing
Select Update Mode – S Synchronous
Press Enter

Talk to your BASIS guy as it looks like you have some authorization issue or may be parameters issue. BASIS guy can understand this.
