Where I can find my non-Netweaver system in the SLD?

You have probably saw a similar situation while trying to setup a system that is not based on SAP Netweaver® system: The SLD is up and running, the datasupplier (sldreg) is sending the data correctly but the system is not appearing in the Technical Systems view of the SLD.

This happens because the purpose of Technical System view is to make easier to the users to browse the CIM Instances, for this reason the general system types (known at the time of development) were separated as different entries (System Types) in the Technical Systems view. This way, when the user specify some type as a result he will see only the systems of the selected type.

To find the system you will need to go to the CIM Maintenance screen.

There are two possible ways to get there, deppending on your SLD version:

  • In the home screen of the SLD, the link CIM Instances is avaliable inside group Development
  • Inside Administration -> Content Maintenance

Then just select the System type in the filter and if everything was OK in the registration, the Technical System will be listed.

Every system type has a corresponding anchor key CIM Instance.

For example:

Technical System Type Key CIM Instance
AS Java SAP_J2eeEngineCluster (Application Server Java)
AS ABAP SAP_BCSystem (Application Server ABAP)
HANA Database SAP_HDBSystem (HANA Database System)
Business Objects Application Server SAP_BOApplicationServer

For more information, please check the following SAP notes:

  • 1871902 – Cannot find registered HANA DB system in the Technical Systems view of the SLD
  • 1690936 – Cannot find registered Business Objects BI 4.0 system in SLD
  • 1018839 – Registering in the System Landscape Directory using sldreg
