HOT… !!! BCM (Business Communication Management) reporting using BOBJ

How to Create SAP BCM Reports in BO(Web Intelligence)?

Introduction

SAP Business Objects Web Intelligence enables reporting users to view available reports, export reports to various data formats and subscribe reports.

Objective

Sometimes user wants blended BCM reports from BO Dashboards with another additional data.

So we can easily combine CRM/ECC reports or any other reports with BCM reports with the help of BO Webi-reports. Blended Analytics is a great way of producing more meaningful reports.

Scenarios

1. You use the CRM and BCM reporting data in SAP NetWeawer Business Warehouse. This is convenient, as the data from both systems can be made readily available there. BW does not contain all of BCM data, as it is limited by SAPphone RFC interface.

2. You query the data separately from CRM and from BCM Data Warehouse, or from OLAP cubes, and combine in your Business Intelligence application. Requires a bit more work, but you have access to full data set from BCM.

According to Architecture, BusinessObject web Intelligence can be used for BCM reporting.

Does SAP provide data universe for BCM Data Warehousing?

Answer is Yes, the universe for SAP BCM data warehouse is available as part of SAP BCM installation media

So I’ll explain step by step procedure to create this BCM report in Webi(Web Intelligence)

Initially we need to create Universe for our report say Uni_BCM

Go to Universe Designer Create New, enter name Uni_BCM

1.JPG

Create new database connection for this universe as follows.

2.JPG

Select connection type Secured and connection name Conn_BCM Select data Access driver as per your BCM server.

In my case I am using MS Analysis Services 2005.

3.JPG

Enter User credentials and Server IP.

4.JPG

Then it will show you all available standard OLAP Cubes for reporting in BCM.

5.JPG

Select universe as per your need set its connection parameters and finish.

7.JPG

Congratulations!! Your universe has been successfully created, now you are ready to transport your universe to CMC.

Save & Transport Universe…

10.JPG

Go to Web Intelligence Rich Client select Uni_BCM. Select dimensions and measures as per your need and run query.

Now customize your report as you want or add this with another report from another system.

I hope you got basic concept from this piece of writing and you can create more complex reports also…..

      Hi Pushkar,

It's a very useful article- thank you for that.

I have a question, though. There's a document (please see the link below) that describes some standard BCM reports in Webi. I believe that it's some kind of standard content and it should somehow be installed. But how? Do you know where to get this content?
