Starting up with Services Designer

1)      Logging in with local repository by entering the corresponding details about the user and repository.

2)      Creating new Project,

3)      Creating new Data stores for Source, target in the corresponding Project.

Various Sources of data in Data Services

There can be various sources of data for DS and these are some of the sources.

1)      Flat file

The root directory and the filename is selected and other parameters such as Delimiters, format are also entered.

In the root directory, select the folder where our flat file have been saved and in File name, select the flat file.

Once we save this, our flat file will saved and this can be used as Source for transformations.

To select the already existing file format, we can select the existing file and select Replicate.

2)      Excel worksheet

In the root directory, select the folder where our excel file have been saved and in File name, select the excel file.

Once we save this, our excel file will saved and this can be used as Source for transformations.

3)      XML source

The filename/ URL are selected and the root element is entered.

Once this is saved, this XML file can be used as a source for the transformations.
