SAP Sourcing / CLM Release 10.0 and Maintenance Information

SAP currently supports Releases 7.0 and 9.0.  SAP is currently in the final phases of development of Release 10 and is just beginning the planning cycle for our  next innovation release.  Additionally, SAP intends to continue providing customer-driven innovation to its On-Premise customers on a regular cadence of every 18-24 months.

Currently, the end of maintenance for SAP Sourcing Release 7.0 is December 31, 2017 and the end of maintenance for SAP Sourcing Release 9.0 is December 31, 2015 2016.  We acknowledge that this is an unusual situation and may be confusing, but given that SAP will continue to innovate the SAP Sourcing application, SAP recommends that customers upgrade to the most recent version of SAP Sourcing regularly.

UPDATED EOM FOR RELEASE 9.0 IS DECEMBER 31ST 2016.

SAP Sourcing Release 10 will be entering ramp-up early Q2 2014 and SAP anticipates it will be generally available at the end of 2014 with an anticipated end of
maintenance of December 31, 2018 2019.  Customers that are considering an upgrade to Release 9.0 in the near future may want to consider participating in Release 10.0 ramp-up and go-live on Release 10.0 in 2014.

If you are interested in learning more about 10.0 ramp-up please contact Kevin Mulligan: kevin.mulligan@sap.com.

      Hello Anne

I have a question, for Sourcing 9 the end o of maintenance  is December 31, 2015, it means that  the support end too?

      Thanks and regards

      Hello

Support for release 9 does not end on Dec 31st 2015.

End of Maintenance means that we will not be delivering any more service packs for release 9 after that date.

If fixes are required after 2015, they are only possible for direct cost.

      I hope this helps.

I understand that SAP wants to follow the principle of one application for one purpose. What is the strategic outlook for Sourcing, given that SRM provides on-premise sourcing functionality and Ariba similar scope for the cloud. The information in the product roadmap for procurement is not very clear. Appreciate your feedback!

      Hello Adrian

I am not privy to the roadmap for SAP SRM but I can assure you that SAP Sourcing / CLM is the SAP On Premise solution.  It is the On Premise counterpart to the Ariba Cloud solution for managing procurement events and contract management.

Release 11 is currently in development with a planned GA in 1st qtr 2017.

If you forward your contact information to me, I can provide you our roadmap.
