4-ways of doing eInvoicing in Turkey
I tried to explain, why we did use NetWeaver PI as the technology infrastructure for our eInvoicing Solution supported and provided by SAP Turkey. I reied to explain this detail in my previous blog Why did FIT choose NetWeaver PI for SAP e-Invoicing Solution?
Over 3 years passed after our solution entered the market.
During the first release in market, we got lots of complaints from partners and customers that why we did PI as the infrastructure solution, insted of Tomcat, pure Java, or .NET platform which are FREE platforms.
At the end of 2012, TRA (Turkish Revenue Administration) announced a new law and companies within the scope of the law has to start to use an eInvoicing System at the lastest 31 December 2013.
After announcing the law, all companies within the scope of law started to seek for a partner to enable eInvoicing for their ERP systems.
History showed us that, especially BİG BİG customers who always loves to be on safe side choose SAP’s, thus FIT’s eInvocing solution.
There were many reasons for this:
1) Market Readiness
Our solution was in market for more than 3 years and we delivered lots of versions for SAP ERP and NON-SAP ERP systems for many national and international companies.
2) Technical Strenghts
As we use NetWeaver PI as our platform, we’re able to provide;
– Platform independency (many costomers would like to install their PI system on the same platform of their ERP System)
– Backup/Restore/Disaster System Procedures are same as their ERP system
– Upgrade to new versions, migration to other platforms are possible
– High Availabily is possible out-of-the-box
– Sizing and scalability is possible
– Virtualization ready
– Platform has a strong vendor (SAP 🙂 )
3) Partner Ecosystem
There are almost 40 SAP Partners in Turkey and currently we’ve partnership with almost 20 of them. They are learning our solution, they are implementing our solution, and they are supporting our solution. So any customer can choose the partner they would like to work with.
4) SAP Support
As I mentioned in my previous blog,
– SAP released OSS Notes ONLY for FIT’s eInvoicing System.
– SAP officially ONLY supports FIT’s eInvoicing Solution (Of course other solutions may be working technically with SAP ERP System)
– Customers can ONLY open OSS tickets for their eInvoicing System if it is provided by FIT.
Now, we passed a year with implementing eInvoicing Solutions for both national and international customers. Depending on the need, we’re doing the implementation with following 4 alternative methods:
4 Implementation Alternatives
1) Customer Site Installation
If customer has their own Data Center with or without Disaster Center, we’re installing our eInvoicing solution on physical or virtual servers within customer DC.
We provide all details required for implementing the eInvoicing Solution installed on customer site. After implementation, customer has to take care of the NetWeaver PI System Maintenance, backup, performance and availability if they don’t sign a SLA agreement with us or with any other partner.
FIT and SAP only provides eInvoicing System Updates and PI Licence Maintenance within the scope of License Agreement.
Many national and international customers decided to work in this method. Some international customers are installing their PI Systems in their HQ Datacenter (In USA, Europe, ..) and only providing an Invoice Archive copy in Turkey location.
2) Hosted Systems
Especially international customers who don’t want to install PI systems in their HQ DC and also doesn’t have Turkey DC for system hosting, we’re renting Test and Production eInvoicing Systems for them at a Partner Hosting Provider and doing all below tasks in a SaaS (Software as a Service) mode:
– System Hosting
– System Maintenance
– eInvocinig System Installations
– eInvoicing System Maintenance
– HSM (Hardware Security Module) rental and maintenance
– Disaster System for Production System
– Invoice achive backup and security
– SSL certificates for systems
3) Box Solution
We provide eInvoicing Appliance to our national and international customers with or without hosting. We deliver pre-installed and configured RACK cabin based Appliance.
This solution contains all modules required to secure access within customer DC and between customer DC and TRA. Also includes hardware modules for remote supportability.
3) Integration Companies
TRA released the law about integration companies early this year or at the end of the last year.
If you setup an infrastructure and your company fits the law requirement for becoming integration company for other companies, then TRA approves you as a Integration Provider.
As a customer, if you would like to use an Integration Company for sending and receiving eInvoices insted of installing your own systems, you’ve to work with one of the Approved Integrator Company.
This solution has lots of advantages especially for small and mid sized companies.
But large companies also can decide (we’ve big customers who will use this method) to work with an Integrator Company.
FIT and ING Bank recently approved as the FIRST Integrator Company in Bank Sector with their solution INGeF.
