After the successful launch and general availability of #SAPOPInt, we´ve been busy working with customers and partners on projects. We´ve had great experience and learnings from these customer projects. More than ever, we believe that Operational Intelligence (process visiblity, insight and actions) on BIG Processes will drive competitive advantage for customers. We thank you for all the support, feedback and the bug reports 🙂 .
We´ve been factoring in all the learnings and feedback into our new release. Our Support Pack 01 is loaded with goodies and is now available in the service market place. Here are some of the new features and capabilities that we believe will excite you.
Responsive Space.me: an operational intelligence cockpit for line-of-business users in desktop and tablets
Now line-of-business users and process workers can gain immediate visibility into their end-to-end BIG processes in both desktop and tablets. Real-time tracking of processes, monitoring key process indicators and reacting to evolving situations has become more easy thanks to the new Space.me.
Collaborative problem solving with Tasks
With our in-built task management system, collaborative problem solving has become simpler. When process worker sports a problem in Space.me, he/she can immediately create a task and invite colleagues to collaborative solve the problem. Process workers can also write down #to-dos and work towards reaching their goals.
Analyze and track business relevant KPIs and measures
In addition to the key indicator support for duration and count measures, in SP01, we support KPI definition on business measures such as revenue and profit. These KPIs can be easily configured in the Business Scenario Editor in HANA Studio by the Solution Expert.
Subscribe to notifications on KPI violations
Line-of-business users can subscribe to notifications when KPIs are at risk or violated at definite intervals such as hourly, daily, weekly or monthly. The notifications are delivered to the Workbox of the user.
Support for end-to-end BIG processes (across SAP and non-SAP systems)
In SP01, business scenarios can be extended to have visibility across big processes spanning different source systems like Business Suite (ERP,CRM,etc), NetWeaver BPM, NetWeaver PI and 3rd party systems etc. A Solution Expert can configure correlation conditions based on process context across process participants to link the instance data and get instance level visibility on the big process.
Out-of-the box visibility into Message Flows from NetWeaver Process Integration (NetWeaver PI)
In SP01, we provided out-of-the-box visiblity into simple NetWeaver PI message flows representing mediated communications between SAP and non-SAP systems. A Solution expert can connect directly to a NetWeaver PI system, discover message flows and add them to a Business Scenario.
Support for Observed Processes
Using Observed Processes, observation models of business processes can be modeled using standard BPMN2 notation. A Solution Expert can model an end-to-end business process, or parts of it using a standard BPMN2 notation as an Observed Process and define expected process flow events. These Process Events can be brought into the Business Scenario based on an open-standard BPAF (business Process analytics format) process event format.
Support for Operational Data Source
In case, there are systems in the end-to-end business process that don´t have a process notion (e.g. a legacy home-grown warehouse management system) database tables can be brought into a Business Scenario and operational events can be defined based on state transitions in the data. These operational events can be used to define phases and/or measures.
We hope these features and capabilities take us a step closer to enable customers to gain real-time visibility and insights and support for collaborative actions to solve problems and thus tame BIG processes.
