Hi All,

I Have created a Dcument on "zero records are loaded into the Data Target"  on "Information Broadcasting".Using SAP BI 7.3.

Please have a look in to it, and give us a feedback.

@ Tool to identify if zero records are loaded into the Data Target.

*Table of Contents

*Introduction.

*Problem Statement

*Solution.

INTRODUCTION:

In SAP BI, to get the data from source to target, we run certain data. In this scenario, there might be a successful load but the data is not fetched, or in certain situations, the load may fail and result in not fetching the data. On repeated tracking of the Loads, we will be able to know whether the load was successful or got failed. If the load got failed, we will be able to rerun once we see the error message.

However, there are situations, where the load is successful but there is no data fetched.

In this situation, if there is no data fetched and the load got successfully updated, then there is a possibility that the technical engineer might not observe this and may move the process ahead.

This Tracking of loads may consume more time and if not properly tracked may lead to delay in delivery.

To avoid such delays we would be discussing one of the possible techniques to get the information about the data load that got successfully loaded but the data not fetched.

Problem statement

When there is a Data Load happens, there are situations where the Process got successfully completed but there are zero records fetched.

Before client escalates about the zero records being fetched to the data target we have to get this alert so that we can fix this issue.

In such scenarios, please follow the below steps to get an email alert once there are zero records fetched though the process got successfully completed.

SOLUTION

Broadcast email Alert to your mailbox to work on the issue. Please follow below steps to configure Broadcasting of emails.

For this scenario, we need to go through exceptional reporting, thus we are getting into Query Designer to create a query that allows us to configure Broadcasting of emails.

Goto:

Query in Designer:

Maintain an exception as required for the scenario:

Go with broadcasting settings:

Go with create new settings:

Maintain the settings for Exception Distribution tab as mentioned in below screen shot:

Maintain the Exception Search on Cal Week as below:

In this scenario, since we have only weekly load, thus we are considering CalWeek, that allows us to check whether the value for this week got loaded but with zero data.

Come back to Exception Distribution to maintain the parameter.

Now update the respective Parameters:

Distribution Type           : Broadcast E-mail

Selection Criterion         : Exception / Alert Level

Contents                       : Exception Details

Distribution Type

Value                            : 4QGHQU....... /Bad 3

Format                          : HTML

Save

Maintain the Recipients list here.

You can give more than one mail id separated by “ ; ”

Maintain the Subject and Body of the mail in TEST tab:

Mention the message that has to be shared through email.

Transfer the values and save the settings by giving technical name:

Regards,

Hari Merugu.
