Solution Manager September Update

- SAP TechEd 2013 ALM Sessions – TechEd is fast approaching and will be held in Las Vegas again this year October 21-25. If you can’t make it the you can watch replays here. There will be 62 ALM related sessions – ALM Sessions Catalog.
- SAP Solution Manager – ITIL Pink verified!SAP is the first and currently only vendor awarded in all 15 certifiable ITIL processes of the Pink Elephant’s PinkVERIFY ITIL v2011 edition certification.
- New key figures: Analyzing/monitoring exceptions during Period End Closing– In order to speed up the Period End Closing (PEC) and to avoid additional, unnecessary tasks during PEC it is a good idea to check for exceptions on a daily basis (via Business Process Analytics or Business Process Monitoring in SAP Solution Manager) and resolve exceptions as soon as they occur.
Solution Manager Maintenance:
A Reminder that Solman 7.0 or below maintenance expires at the end of 2013. There is no extended maintenance available so it is a good idea to start planning for an upgrade to 7.1 now to ensure continued maintenance support. Please note with the release of SP09/10 in Q4 many of the main EGI’s are not being run.
- Solman 7.0 Mainstream Maintenance ends Q4 2013 (7.1 will be supported for 6 years)
- Support Pack 9/10 is scheduled for release in Sep/Oct (see Solution Manager Roadmap).

Thanks Luis, trying to raise awareness of the ALM space as process is the key to adoption rather than tools. Wish I could post in both!
