      Hello Christian,

You should replace the kernel at the “\sapmnt\SID\exe” folder only.

The new kernel will be copied to the exe folder of each individual instance when SAP is started (if the instances were installed per the SAP Installation Guide + SAP Installation tools).

As a side note, all instances of an SAP system must be using the same kernel .

      Regards,

      Isaías

if we paste the new downloaded kernel files in DVEBMGS<instance no> & we do not paste in \usr\sap\SID\SYS\exe also it does not matter because when we start the SAP system, then it automatically adapts to the new kernel that is already pasted in DVEBMGS__\exe because when it starts reading the total system kernel it finds the newer kernel files & adopt accordingly
