To Install a SBOP BI Platform Server on Windows, commonly known as BO Server.

Prerequisites

Minimum Hardware Requirements

4 x 2.0 GHz Core CPU

8 GB RAM minimum / recommended 16GB

Minimum Disk Requirements

11 GB for default installation with English language only installed

14 GB for default installation with all languages installed

OS Requirements

Windows Server 2008 64-bit

Software Requirements

SBOP BI Platform Server

From SAP Service Marketplace, you need to have the server installables for SBOP BO Platform Server.

You can find them under Software Downloads->Installation and Upgrades->A-Z Index->B-> SBOP BI platform (former SBOP Enterprise)->SBOP BI PLATFORM (ENTERPRISE)-> SBOP BI PLATFORM 4.0->WINDOWS->51046794_4(This is SP7 Server Installation)

SBOP Explorer (Optional)

From SAP Service Marketplace, you need to have the server installables for SBOP BO Explorer.

You can find them under Software Downloads->Installation and Upgrades->A-Z Index->E-> SBOP Explorer-> SBOP Explorer 4.0->Installation and Upgrades->51046799_4(This is SP7 Server Installation)

Steps to Install

SBOP BI Platform Server


1. Extract the 51046794_4.RAR file

2. Goto {Extract Path}\\DATA_UNITS\BusinessObjectsServer_win\

3. Exectute setup.exe

4. Follow On Screen Instructions

     4.a.This step takes a lot of time and comes up with the analysis whether the current system you are using meets the prerequisites or not.

    

     4.b.You will be asked for a Product Key. You may choose to use a temporary key which is valid for 30 Days or get a permanent key, both available at service.sap.com.

    

     4.c.Choose the type of installation. If you are sure what you want to install, then go for Custom/Web Tier. Full is selected by default.

     .

     4.d. Select the directory location for installation. This is where the Server Installation will take place. Make sure there is enough space in the given location.

    

     4.e. Choose whether to install a new DB or use the existing DB. The BO reports use this DB

    

     4.f Select the Web Application Server type. This will be the server which runs BI launch pad, Explorer, CMC, etc.

    

     4.g. Version Management for the BO Objects. Select whether you need this feature or not.

    

     4.h. Give the Node Name and Port Number for SIA. SIA is used for Server management from CMC.

    

     6.i Give the port details for CMS. The data stored by the CMS includes information about users and groups, security levels,      BusinessObjects Enterprise content, and servers.

    

6.j Give password for CMS Account and Cluster Key


     6.k. Give passwords for SQL Server(Default DB) and BI platform user.

    

     6.l Enter details about Tomcat Server.

    

     6.m Enter details about the WACS and/or REST services. This is the port used to expose data to the network via Web Services.

    

     6.n Subversion, which is version management component. Enter details for the same.

    

     6.o Integration with SOLMAN can be done using SMD Agent.

    

   6.p Introscope Enterprise Manager can be integrated with the BO Server

 

     6.q Wait till the installation is complete.

7. You would successfully complete the installation to get a message about it.

SBOP BI Explorer Server


1. Extract the 51046799_4.RAR file

2. Goto {Extract Path}\\DATA_UNITS\BusinessObjectsServer_win\

3. Exectute setup.exe

4. Follow On Screen Instructions

     4.a.This step takes a lot of time and comes up with the analysis whether the current system you are using meets the prerequisites or not.

    

5. The installer will take you through the Terms of Agreement, Language, Installation Type(Full, Custom, etc.) and Installation Directory

6. CMS Logon Information

Provide the same logon information you've used while installing SBOP BI Server.

7. SIA

Select the already installed SIA from the drop-down

8. After waiting for a while, you would successfully complete the installation to get a message about it.
