Background provided by SAP:
SAP Certification recently conducted a survey of SAP user groups to determine how important SAP certification is to our users. Over 300 users responded to the survey which targeted several SAP user groups around the world.
As directed by the CEIC (Certification Enablement and Influence Council), SAP Certification has conducted a survey of its user groups to gather feedback regarding the importance of certification in general and specifically the importance of Credential Manager implementation.
More than 80% of respondents say it is important or very important to have their employees certified. And, 60% say certification is used as criteria when selecting consultants to implement SAP projects. Also, 75% of respondents indicate it is important or very important to be able to search a public registry of consultants.

Hi Tammy
I am surprised that SAP Education need to conduct a survey about the importance of credential management. This has been promised for more than a year now and has had numerous implementation dates. It appears the same old rhetoric.
Could you ask why SAP Education is allowing students from universities and vocational colleges to undertake SAP Certification courses when they have never used SAP software previously.
thanks
Paul
Hi Paul,
Thank you for commenting - I am happy to ask.
I think it has always been this way; I sat for the SAP SEM exam 10 years ago; the company I worked for at the time decided not to purchase the product after I passed the exam.
Thanks,
Tammy
Hi Tammy,
Greetings of the day!
I feel certification is a key to understand SAP. However, in addition to the SAP certification, it is imperative that SAP implemented company acknowledge and provide opportunity basis the certification.
In recent past it has been seen and observed, companies hire consultant on the basis of training from unauthorized centre and thereby depriving opportunity to much need Certified professionals.
Kind regards,
Aniil
