Calling Volunteers for the Retail University App Rumble
It’s time for another University App Rumble – this time with a focus on Retail!
You may be wondering what this program is. This program allows for University Students to take a design thinking approach to come up with mobile app ideas within the Retail Industry. Once all of the ideas are submitted by September 18th, 3 finalist teams will be chosen. Those 3 teams will be paired with SAP developers to build a prototype of their application during the weeks of September 23 – October 9th. These prototypes will be showcased by the students at the Retail Forum in Dallas, TX from October 7th – 9th in front of SAP Retail customers along with members of the SAP leadership team. Students will have their own demo pod where the apps will also be showcased during the entirety of the event.
With the help of 6 SAP developers, this program was a huge success at SAPPHIRE receiving positive feedback from Steve Lucas, Robin Manherz, Ann Rosenberg and Dave Hutchison. For more info, take a look at this blog or this article.
We are currently looking for 6 volunteer SAP developers to participate in the Retail University App Rumble. Developers will need to work with the students to create a prototype on the SAP Mobile Platform during the weeks of September 23 – October 9th. This is a great opportunity with engage with millenials, practice your retail mobile development skills, and to gain exposure to top executives at SAP. If you are interested, please reach out to Jennifer Frank to sign up. Space is limited, so don’t wait!
Is the contest open to students around the globe ?
Only the US - but there are similar programs in other regions run by University Alliances.
