creating casacading list of Values in Universe

This demo will show how to create Cascading list of Values in semantic layer and then we will see how it is useful in Webi report.

lets start with universe designer and open existing universe .

Click on Tools and then  List of Values and select create cascading LOV. This is useful in several situation where user had huge data which need to be made use friendly during selection of LOV during report run.

now select the fields required for creating LOV from left to right pane in popup and click generate LOVS.

Save the universe and export to CMS.

Create a new webi  based this Universe.

we used query filter as prompt to show the usefulness of these Cascading LOV .now if we had large amount of data we can divide them in category and then select the appropriate value from LOV. for our case city we divided in country then region and then city.

this will make our selection very easy.
