Dear All:

We maybe have already known the using of input parameters for currency and date convert, there are several documents introduce them, but maybe confuse who created input parameters without currency and date conversion on analytic view or calculation view, it did not work.

I created scenarios for input parameters without currency and date convert, we only use input parameters as filter expression on calculation view.

NOTES, the input parameters does not work as filter expression on analytic view.

The HANA server is SPS05 and HANA studio is SPS 05 resivion 48.

1. Create Analytic view with input parameters and output input or choose parameters on data preview, I will create P_REGIONNAME and P_COST parameters.

Create P_REGIONNAME parameters based on column REGIONNAME.

Create P_COST parameters based on static list.

I defined two parameters displayed on semantics perspective.

Save and activated and Data preview for analytic view.

2. Create calculation view only based on above analytic view.

I only us parameters of analytic view, you can create new parameters on calculation view, but you need to map them one by one.

The mapping parameters were displayed on calculation view.

.

We save and activated calculation view and preview data, we can see two parameters outputted on variables and input parameters perspective, click ok, do not change them.

The all data were fetched, the parameters were not work.

Now we will set filter expression to used my defined parameters. set region name equals P_REGIONNAME and cost greater than P_COST.

Set filter expression to using defined parameters.

Save and activated calculation view and preview data.

We change P_COST value to 10000, we cannot change P_REGIONNAME parameters value, because it depends on analytic view define, but you can define it on calculation directly, by this way, you can change it.

The input parameters work well, and the related data were fetched based on filter expression definition.

Finally, you can also use input parameters anywhere or any BO report tool.

Regards,

Jerry.
